Supervision, Consultation & Seminars
for professionals in mental health
Whether you’re seeking to improve your therapy skill set broadly or become certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I provide clinical supervision and consultation services. In collaboration with the EFT Resource Center, I provide seminars for mental health professionals at all stages of learning in EFT.
Supervision
For nearly 20 years, I’ve been providing supervision to masters- and doctoral-level trainees.
I’ve supervised interns and clinical associates in both psychology and marriage and family therapy disciplines, for the Southern California Counseling Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, the Institute for Girls Development in Pasadena, and the EFT Resource Center. I’m an ICEEFT-Certified Supervisor in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which means that I can provide supervision hours required for formal Certification in EFT.
My supervision is trainee-centered, collaborative, supportive, and attentive to both theoretical and experiential components of the clinical work. This means that in addition to concern for the client, we explore and address the therapist as a human being in the room as well, paying attention to the social and racial identities and histories present in the therapy and supervision conversations. Supervision includes discussion, video or audio reviews, live “bug-in-the-ear” supervision, and live consultations when possible.
Seminars
Working in collaboration with the EFT Resource Center, I offer seminars for mental health professionals who are building their skills in EFT—from introductory level up to mastery level classes.
Our seminars include an overview of the EFT model, presentations of attachment theory and clinical techniques, skills training exercises, case studies, video excerpts of EFT in action, and the latest research and practice applications.
We also offer advanced/mastery EFT seminars to therapists on special topics such as integrating sexuality concerns in couples work, addressing trauma in couples therapy, helping couples heal from affairs, LGBTQIA+ relationships, and helping couples struggling with serious health challenges.
The seminars are held both live and online for therapists locally, nationally, and internationally. Continuing education credits are available.
